With the massive interest in the “baby yoda” character from the popular Star Wars spin-off, “The Mandalorian”, production of Season 3 was halted when an injunction was filed again Disney by the trustees of the muppet creators, Frank Oz Trust Corp because of alleged copyright infringement.
Their point in the suit is that “Star Wars/Disney are leveraging a new character sponged from an existing contract character creating a character outside of contract knowledge or inclusion“, stated an unnamed Disney employee in charge of the cryogenic vault below Disneyland where Walt Disney’s frozen head has been rumored to be stored since his death in December, 1966. “We are now installing a new freeze canister for Grogu (baby yoda’s screen name) to wait things out“.
In the mean while, Chainsaw Chicken’s nephew “Chick-gu” has been put in place to be used as a substitute to continue Season 3 filming while the courts and lawyer continue with their litigation .
“Chick-gu appears to be an obvious departure from the Oz group character because of a profound beak, rooster comb and waddles not to mention the sprouting pin feathers“, stated the cryo-tech.
